I first heard about Mercy Ships in May 1996, and at the end of July, I flew to Madagascar to join the Anastasis. After 10 years on board, I transferred to the Africa Mercy where I spent almost 8 years. And yes, I still have my “welcome boat”!

This month I celebrate 10 years as National Director for Mercy Ships South Africa.

As I look back over these 29 years, I am so grateful to God for calling me to serve with this extraordinary organization, and I am so thankful to the leadership of Mercy Ships who have walked alongside me, encouraged me and given me an opportunity to serve in ways I could never have imagined.

And of course, to every patient who has received life-transforming surgery on board our vessels, and every volunteer who has served with us – thank you for the impact you have made in my life.

If you are looking for a change – long or short term – reach out to me and find out about some exciting and fulfilling opportunities with Mercy Ships!
