Prayer Points
27 July – 2 August (week 31)
Patient selection Sierra Leone
The patient selection team in Sierra Leone visits future patients who will undergo surgery after the Global Mercy maintenance period. This is a tough job. Would you like to support the patient selection team with prayer and bless them with wisdom for this process? Also, prayer is needed for the patients who are suffering from a medical condition that Mercy Ships does not operate. The greatest gift we pray for them is the knowledge that God loves them.
3 – 9 August (week 32)
Safe sailing Global Mercy
In this week, the Global Mercy will sail again to Sierra Leone where surgery will resume at the beginning of September. Your prayers for a safe navigation on the ocean and a good start of the hospital – and all other departments on the ship – are very much appreciated by the crew.
10 – 16 August (week 33)
Medical volunteers needed
Mercy Ships cannot literally and figuratively operate without the hundreds of volunteers who contribute their time and talents. We are looking for more medical volunteers. And you can help Mercy Ships do just that. Pray with us that the right medical professionals will be willing to give their time and talents (temporarily) to the mission of Mercy Ships.
17 to 23 August (week 34)
Straight paths for patients helped
We often look ahead. But this time we want to think back to the patients who received surgery in the first six months of this year. We ask God to walk with everyone, make their paths straight and help them to bless others. Will you pray with us?
24 – 30 August (week 35)
Rest prior to exciting surgeries
At the beginning of September, the first patients of the new work period will come to the Global Mercy. You can imagine how the patients feel; They have to surrender completely to people they don’t know and hope that the operation succeeds. The moment they walk up the gangway is a moment of hope, tension and fear. Pray that the patients may receive a supernatural rest from God and know that their lives are in good hands.
